Rust - With a cast iron bathtub, it can be difficult to find signs of rusting. With sheet metal bathtubs, it's much easier to spot signs of rust and that rust will typically show itself around the drain of the tub. Low Spots - Sheet metal bathtubs can develop low spots and become misshapen at the bottom of the tub. These low areas can eventually become rusted as in the low spots, water can pool and not properly drain.
